Attending our train-the-trainer course provides staff and individuals within the health, education, and social care sectors with the skills and knowledge in de-escalation, communication, and physical intervention techniques.
Once certified, participants will be able to deliver our BILD Act certified positive behaviour management courses internally to your own staff.
Our trainer programme can be attended at scheduled open programmes or delivered on your site for groups of 4 or more. Training delivered by your in-house trainers can be done entirely in class or via a hybrid model using Timian materials. Pricing is available upon request and will be per person. Participants must complete an e-learning module prior to attending the 4 day programme.

The Positive Behaviour Management Train the Trainer course provides a comprehensive framework for developing and delivering effective behaviour support training.
It begins with core values, emphasising the importance of building positive relationships and fostering trust, developing empathy and understanding by applying the "Five P’s of Invitational Theory" and adopting a trauma-informed care approach.
The course then explores how to understand behaviour as a form of communication, helping trainers understand the functions of behaviour, cultural difference in behaviour, and the role of communication.
Participants learn to develop individual response strategies, including positive behaviour support strategies, the "Four D’s" approach to concerning behaviours, and effective defusion techniques.
The course then moves on to the topic of reducing restrictive interventions through the identification of such practices and the impact they have, implementing the Six Core Strategies to minimise restrictive practices, and applying thorough debriefing methods.
Finally, the course addresses ethics, law, and policy, covering Human Rights legislation, ethical decision-making frameworks, how to navigate complex dilemmas and understanding policy development and the law.
This course is aimed at professionals across a range of settings and organisations who would benefit from having a positive behaviour management trainer on site for ongoing support and advice. These include:
Organisations following the Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards.
Organisations who support individuals with challenging behaviours.
NHS commissioned services.
CQC regulated services.
Private and public sector organisations, as well as charities, delivering services in education, healthcare, social care, mental health, etc.
