The Safe Use of Ligature Knife Training is designed for those who support people who are at high risk of attempting suicide or self harm such as those within the healthcare, mental health services, law enforcement and those in emergency response teams.
Our ligature knife training course is also ideal for those working in environments where there is a duty of care to vulnerable individuals. The most common method type of deaths by suicide is hanging, suffocation and strangulation therefore it’s important that those who work within these areas have ligature awareness and ligature knife training so they can respond to incidents professionally and effectively to save lives.
Our interactive, classroom-based course provides learners with an understanding of their responsibilities as responders to strangulation or ligature injuries. They will be able to identify injury patterns from ligatures, follow first aid procedures for first responders and preserve the scene for forensic examination, as well as safely storing a ligature knife.
