The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is an Ofqual-regulated, workplace-based qualification designed to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to deliver safe, effective and person-centred adult social care. Based on the Care Certificate standards, it provides a nationally recognised qualification that supports workforce competence, career progression and high-quality care delivery.
The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate is designed to develop a confident, competent and compliant workforce across adult social care settings in England. Delivered by sector-experienced assessors, the qualification ensures learners can demonstrate both knowledge and practical competence within real workplace environments.
Based on the Care Certificate standards, the programme supports consistent workforce development, improves care quality and safety, and provides a recognised qualification that is portable across the adult social care sector. It also creates progression opportunities into senior care, lead adult care worker and higher-level qualifications.

This qualification is ideal for new care staff completing induction, experienced workers who do not yet hold a recognised qualification, care assistants, support workers and personal assistants working within adult social care.
It is also suitable for residential, domiciliary and community care providers seeking to establish consistent workforce standards and improve care quality across their organisation. Learners must be aged 19 or over and working in an adult social care setting in England.
