Thomas has over 20 years’ experience working across the health and social care sector, developing extensive knowledge, practical expertise and leadership capability throughout his career.
He began as a Support Worker, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and mental health conditions. During this time, he built a strong foundation in person-centred practice and developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by both individuals and staff teams.
Thomas progressed into senior and service management roles, where he strengthened his leadership skills and developed a passion for improving outcomes for people with complex needs. His commitment to proactive, person-centred support led him to specialise in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), supporting organisations to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
He went on to work as a PBS Facilitator across the North West, coaching and mentoring staff teams to implement effective behavioural strategies and improve service quality. Following this, Thomas became a Regional PBS Lead for a large care provider, managing a team of behavioural specialists and contributing to the organisation’s strategic leadership. In this role, he was also responsible for developing and delivering workforce training programmes to embed best practice.
In 2025, Thomas joined Empeiria Training as a full-time Specialist Trainer. He delivers a wide range of training programmes across health and social care, drawing on his extensive frontline and leadership experience to ensure learning is practical, engaging and directly relevant to real-world practice.
In addition to training delivery, Thomas also provides PBS consultancy services to organisations looking to strengthen and embed effective, organisation-wide PBS practices. He is passionate about supporting professionals to build confidence, develop their skills and deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
