What's Involved?

This classroom based training course explores various aspects of first aid in the workplace in 15 different modules, beginning with what first aid is, and the legislation and responsibilities surrounding it, before leading on to various different first aid scenarios.

As a learner you will gain valuable insight into your responsibilities as a first aider and gain practical skills to administer basic first aid to an injured individual.

Upon completion of The Emergency First Aid at Work course, learners will receive a FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF).

There is an additional accreditation cost of £8.80 per learner – this cost provides each learner with course materials and accredited certification

(This course can also be delivered unaccredited – please ask for further information)

Benefits of the Emergency First Aid at Work course

Improved workplace safety

Learners will be trained in several different types of emergencies which means that medical incidents are more likely to be managed promptly and appropriately, reducing the chance of harm worsening and avoiding more serious medical complications.

Faster and more confident response to medical emergencies

Learners will build the confidence and competence to act decisively, rather than hesitate or wait which can be the difference between life and death in critical situations, reducing reliance on external medical responders in those crucial early moments.

Better compliance and risk management

Providing staff with certified first aid training demonstrates a strong commitment to due diligence, which is valued during audits, inspections and for meeting legal or regulatory requirements.

Reduced severity of injuries

By knowing how to correctly handle several types of injuries such as wounds, bleeding, burns, etc. it means that many injuries can be contained or stabilised quickly, preventing worse outcomes.

Better risk awareness and preventative behaviour

The modules on what is first aid, legislation and responsibilities help individuals to not only respond, but to also be more aware of hazards, leading to proactive identification of risks.

Be able to manage less common emergencies

This course includes information on less common emergencies, such as seizures, so learners will be better prepared to support individuals, reducing inappropriate responses and improving safety for vulnerable people in the workplace.

Who is this course suitable for?

This Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed for anyone in a workplace who may be required to respond to injuries or medical emergencies before professional help arrives. It is particularly useful for designated first aiders or employees tasked with emergency responsibilities, though it also welcomes any staff member who wants to gain the skills and confidence to administer first aid safely and effectively.

This course suits organisations aiming to upskill their workforce or enhance their emergency preparedness. Whether you work in an office, care setting, or industrial environment, the training ensures participants can act quickly and appropriately during workplace incidents, fostering a safer and more compliant work culture.

  • Thank you very much Empeiria Training - the feedback from all who attended has been excellent across the team (and that is not always the case when I put training together!) so I'm really pleased that we've got this over the line. We're already reviewing some of our key cases where neurodiversity is a factor, looking at them with fresh eyes and assessing what we can do differently - which is exactly what I wanted. Please pass on my thanks to your expert by experience and your colleagues.
