This course is designed to provide staff with an overarching understanding of personality disorders, including emotionally unstable personality disorder, the causes and Neurological differences.
In addition to this the training explores the range of support and treatment options available, whilst providing professional and effective ways of responding to the behaviours that people with personality disorders may present.
The Understanding Personality Disorder course has has been co-produced with a person who has lived experience and depending on availability will be co-delivered.
The course is designed for staff and professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of personality disorders and how best to support people who live with them. Learners will be able to recognise different personality disorders, understand the neurological and psychological factors that contribute to personality disorders, and how to respond in a person centred and respectful way.
Whether you are new to working with personality disorders or looking to develop your understanding of them, our trainers are equipped to provide the essential information you require.
This course is taught in a classroom of 8-16 for a duration of 3-4 hours, which we believe gives learners a better opportunity to engage with other learners through open discussions, real-world case studies, and group activities to help build confidence and develop practical skills they can put into practice within their roles.
During this course we will explore the various different personality disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder, and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, along with the different causes and support and treatment options for those diagnosed.
