Empeiria training has become an approved centre to deliver the prestigious RoSPA Qualifications Level 3 Award for Manual Handling Trainers.
The purpose of this Level 3 Award for Manual Handling Trainers is to support the role of the manual handling trainer in the workplace and to enable the trainer to provide suitable and sufficient training that meets legislative requirements and current best practice.
The RoSPA Level 3 Award for Manual Handling Trainers course is ideal for individuals who are responsible for delivering manual handling training in the workplace, particularly those who already have experience in a people handling environment.
The course has also been designed for trainers who are interested in improving their skill level and ensuring their training meets current legislative requirements and best practices.
The course includes three mandatory units covering safe handling principles, biomechanical techniques, and the planning and delivery of training sessions, delivered over 16 guided learning hours. Suitable for those with experience in manual or people handling and a recommended minimum Level 2 in literacy and numeracy, the qualification is valid for three years, with requalification strongly advised thereafter.
All units are mandatory and all three units must be passed to gain a qualification.
The first unit develops the learner's knowledge of the principles and processes that underpin safe handling in the workplace.
The second unit develops the learner's knowledge and skills in the application of basic biomechanical principles and safe practices to manual handling tasks within the workplace.
The final unit develops the learner's knowledge and skills so they can prepare, deliver and evaluate a training session.
There are no specific entry requirements, however learners should have a minimum of level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent and have experience of working within a people handling environment and have the confidence to train others.
This qualification provides learners with a valid manual handling trainer’s qualification for three years. After this period, it is highly recommended that learners re - qualify, due to the purpose, nature and contents of this qualification.
