Participants will acquire knowledge regarding the prerequisites and principles associated with the administration of Buccal Midazolam, including the 6 Rs, various brands, potential side effects, health and safety considerations, care plans, and the appropriate circumstances in which to contact emergency services.
This course equips learners with a fundamental comprehension of epilepsy, seizures and Buccal Midazolam training. A practical demonstration of how to safely and effectively administer Buccal Midazolam is provided with an opportunity for all participants to engage with this practical skill.
Develops a learner's knowledge of the types of seizures, what happens and commons causes and triggers.
6 hours of classroom based learning with 8-16 participants.
Teaches learners support and recovery strategies for during and after a seizure.
Develops a learners knowledge of treatment options and safe administration practice for epilepsy and seizures.
If you work directly with individuals who have epilepsy, such as in education, healthcare, or care settings, our course has been designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and practical skills to respond confidently and safely during seizure emergencies.

By completing this training, you and your team will be better prepared to recognise and respond to seizures, implement safe handling protocols, and provide appropriate aftercare — all while helping maintain the dignity, safety, and well-being of the person experiencing a seizure.
