NCFE Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate

Empeiria Training are excited to announce we can now offer NCFE Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate Qualification which has received approval from Skills for Care and Ofqual.

Based on Care Certificate standards, this qualification is to develop the knowledge and skills needed for all staff working in the Adult and Social Care Settings in England.

Get In Touch

Who can register?

This qualification will replace the current Care Certificate with the aim to ensure that all those working within the sector who do not currently have a care related role have a baseline level of knowledge and skills to provide hight quality care and support. Current statistics indicate that 54% of direct care workers lack a level 2 qualification or higher.

Under the DHSC's current plans, all employed care staff aged 19 and above, including those with existing relevant qualifications, will have the opportunity to complete the new Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate. Please not that funding attached to this qualification will be prioritised for those who do not currently hold a care related qualification.

One of the advantages of this qualification is that valid recognition of prior learning (RPL) can be utilised, allowing staff to count reliable learning and assessment from their induction, training courses or experience in the role as evidence towards completing the qualification.

What is the purpose of this qualification and how can this benefit staff?

  • It will raise the level of knowledge and skills.
  • It will reduce skills gaps in workforces by supporting more employers to access recognised qualifications.
  • Reduce the need for repeat training and assessments when people move roles.
  • It will standardise how care certificate standards are delivered across the care settings.
  • Ensure staff feel recognised, valued and invested in.
  • Ensure workforces have the support they need to provide safe and effective care.
  • Support staff to achieve rewarding careers, to be able to develop and progress.

How will this course be delivered by Empeiria:

  • Learners will have access to NCFE Skills portfolio which will allow them to easily submit completed work and evidence, receive guidance and feedback and view their own progress.
  • All learners will be allocated an assessor with extensive firsthand experience of Health and Social Care
  • Assessors will maintain regular contact with learners providing practical guidance, advice and resources to ensure learners are able to complete elements of the qualification
  • All learners will have practical competency assessments of the qualification observed and assessed in their workplace by their own assessor. This will minimise the amount of time your staff will need to be released from the workplace to complete the qualification

Funding available!

The government has re-opened funding for the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate through the new Learning & Development Support Scheme (LDSS). This funding is available to eligible employers who enrol staff in the qualification before March 31, 2025.

  • Employers can claim up to £1,500 per qualification for eligible care staff.
  • The funding operates on a combined claims model
  • Employers must claim 60% of the reimbursement value when their employee begins the qualification
  • The remaining 40% reimbursed upon proof of course completion.

  • Thank you very much Empeiria Training - the feedback from all who attended has been excellent across the team (and that is not always the case when I put training together!) so I'm really pleased that we've got this over the line. We're already reviewing some of our key cases where neurodiversity is a factor, looking at them with fresh eyes and assessing what we can do differently - which is exactly what I wanted. Please pass on my thanks to your expert by experience and your colleagues.

  • The training given was highly informative and will be put go great use within my role at 1st Enable. The trainer made us all feel at ease and encouraged us to use real scenarios and experiences that we feel that the training could be put to use and how it could be used to improve life for the people we support. It is training like this that really enables us to do the best for the people we support.
